Holiday Meals for Scholar Moms

One of our outreach partners, Muncie Scholar House, supports single mothers pursuing college degrees to build a brighter future for their families. Each month they hold a workshop that includes a family dinner and would like to invite Commonway to be a part of the November & December workshops. The goal is to make both dinners feel like a Thanksgiving and Christmas meal.

You can help by preparing food for 50 people (roughly half adults & half children), serving dinner, or providing childcare while the moms attend their workshop. Scholar House is also collecting $25 Walmart gift cards to help bless each mom with a holiday meal of her own.

Volunteer opportunities:

• Prepare food: Deliver by 5:15-5:30 p.m. to Mitchell Early Childhood and Family Center. Each dinner needs a main dish (turkey, ham, or another meat), sides, rolls, desserts, and drinks.
• Serve dinner: 5:45–6:30 p.m.
• Help with childcare: 6:30–7:30 p.m.
• Donate: $25 Walmart gift cards.
